Conditions
- Appointments are made for one year. Postdoctoral fellows have high opportunity of renewal of the contract (no more than two times) in case of outstanding performance.
- HSE University offers postdoctoral fellows a competitive salary, the standard medical insurance plan, a working space equipped with a computer and free Internet access at the University.
- The CInSt offers the access to its databases covering Russian banks’ financial statements (Mobile database) as well as Russian household longitudinal surveys (e.g. RLMS-HSE).

APPLIED ECONOMICS
REQUIREMENTS:
The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:
- Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics, Econometrics, Political Science or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
- Candidates should have a strong background in empirical methods and economic theory, ability to conduct an independent research;
- Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
- Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.
THE POSITION INVOLVES:
- working under the direct supervision of Paola Valbonesi, Leading Research Fellow, and Elena Podkolzina, Deputy Director of the Center for Institutional Studies;
- participants are encouraged to pursue their own research along with working on CInSt research projects such as:
o Institutional Economics;
o Cross-Regional Studies;
o State Transfers and Political Cycle;
o Corruption and Rent-seeking Activities in Russian Public Procurement (Theoretical and/or Empirical analysis);
o Affirmative Actions in Russian Public Procurement;
o Digital Markets in Russia.
- writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals, eventually in co-authorship with the members of the Center;
- participation in the events of the Center and other contribution to the CInSt development;
- public presentations of candidate’s own research to the academic community;
- some teaching is encouraged, though not required.
BANKING AND HOUSEHOLD FINANCE
Requirements:
The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:
- Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics, Banking, Finance or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
- Candidates should have a strong background inEconomics, Econometrics, Banking, Finance or Household Finance, interest in applied empirical research in the mentioned fields accompanied by (a) clear research project proposal(s), as well as the ability to work in a team and on his/her own research projects.
- Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
- Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.
- working under the direct supervision of Maria Semenova, Senior Research Fellow at CInSt, HSE, and Associate Professor at the School of Finance, HSE;
- participants are encouraged to pursue the research on topic(s) within at least one of the following broad areas:

- Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of Economics, Economic History, Political Science or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
- Candidates should have a strong background in empirical methods and economic theory, ability to conduct an independent research.

Requirements:
The general requirements for the postdoctoral fellowship positions are the following:
- Candidates must hold a recent PhD in the field of sociology, economics, computer sciences, scientometrics, bibliometrics, research evaluation, higher education and research policy studies or related areas which was awarded over the last 5 years or received before starting work at HSE in a relevant field by an internationally recognized university and has been assessed by external reviewers as having the potential to pursue research that is publishable in leading peer-reviewed journals;
- Candidates should have a strong background in at least one of the aforementioned fields, ability to extract and work with quantitative data.
- Fluent English is an obligatory condition as research and other activities are conducted in English. Knowledge of Russian is not required;
- Relevant experience will be an asset although not required.
The position involves:
